OFFSHORE WIND- THE SHIPPING FORUM
September 16 & 17th, 2010: Copenhagen, Clarion Hotel

SEATTLE, WASH: June 04, 2010 — Capt. Thomas S. Wissmann, of SHIPS4EVER.COM has announced open registration for OFFSHORE WIND -THE SHIPPING FORUM to be held on the dates of September 16 & 17th, 2010 in Copenhagen, Denmark. THE SHIPPING FORUM aims to create an exchange between operators of offshore wind projects and dedicated entirely to the operation of offshore ships & workboats used in the construction & maintenance of offshore windfarms.

The discussion will be lead by a core panel of speakers with participating working groups to assess the feasibility of vessels that can be used for installation and operation of offshore windfarms, along with additional relevant topics. Each point discussed will be closed with a statement presented by the speaker panel at the end of each day. For more information and registration information please visit http://wind4ever.com.

Offshore windfarms are a way to combat the effects of climate change. They produce hundreds of construction, operations and maintenance jobs in each region, and it would reduce our reliance on imported fossil fuels, as well as the need to build more oil, coal or gas power plants and reduces the risks associated with them.

Founder, Capt.Thomas S. Wissmann, SHIPS4EVER.COM states, “offshore wind is the alternative to any pollution prevention needed for oil & gas. The future for our children lies here!”

About SHIPS4EVER.COM
Founded in 1998 by Capt.Thomas S Wissmann, SHIPS4EVER.COM is a global S&P brokerage and vessel management network. Within the network we are able to offer comprehensive services from sourcing the right vessels, to managing day to day ship operation, project management for conversions/new build vessels, and time charter arrangements.

Please visit http://www.SHIPS4EVER.COM for detailed information.

Kansas, OK, Texas transmission

OK just completed 345 KV transmission line from OKC to Woodward in NW OK,
While OK through Perry, OK to Wichita thru Rose hill seems to be on the way by 2012.
KS has finished 1/2 of 345 KV Wichita to Salina through Hutchison. More lines are planned, or under construction. SPP has new regional revenue plans.

The first transmission network linking the Lubbock/Amarillo to Salina wind potential oval from NW Texas to OK, KS and SW Nebraska appears likely to be up and running by 2014. Southwest Power Pool (SPP) is planning 745 kv network following. The transmission shoe has dropped

My question are:
1) How will this interlink affect availability of existing farms?
2) Will additional wind capacity turbine farms follow?
3) What will happen now, the 745 KV network, links to eastern states, more wind farms, add energy storage?

New Type of Lift System for Wind Turbines

I would like people to know there is a new type of lift system to move people and materials from the bottom to the top and top to the bottom of wind turbine towers. The name of the company is Suspended Climbing Systems (http://WWW.suspendedclimbingsystems.com). Mr. Sam Franklin has designed a new system using steel roller chain instead of cable. The new lift systems offers greater payload capability and offers flexibility in cage dimensions and works great in turbines 1.5 MW and over in capacity.
