I don’t think you could possibly make enough windmills to slow down the wind…but then again think about the great dustbowl back in the day. It arose because all the trees were cut down to make farm land, so if we are kinda doing the opposite wonder what will happen. Lol.

Nah, there is no way that would happen. I mean they are probably cutting down and clearing a lot of trees to build the windmills anyway, so it is probably a net of no change as far as wind resistance goes.

The more renewable energy resources the better. I think it is great that New Mexico is aggressively pursuing wind power. Being able to export electricity generated by wind power as a commodity probably plays a huge role in why it is growing so fast.

The amount of wind and other renewable generation needed to meet New Mexico’s Renewable Portfolio Standard is modest, as there are only 2 million New Mexicans. Most of New Mexico wind power is destined for the California and Arizona markets to help these states meet their Renewable Portfolio requirements.
