Wind Capital Group to develop Missouri’s largest wind farm
The company has announced plans to develop a $300 million, 150 megawatt (MW) wind energy project in DeKalb County, Missouri. The project, named Lost Creek, will be the largest in the state, providing 2,500 direct and indirect jobs and enough electricity to power more than 50,000 homes. The project will use 100 General Electric 1.5 MW wind turbines. GE manufactures wind turbines in South Carolina and California.
“Homegrown wind projects like Lost Creek don’t just provide clean energy, they generate manufacturing, construction and maintenance jobs, and new opportunities for farmers, landowners, and rural communities,” said WCG President Tom Carnahan. “By harnessing the power of wind, we are making a lasting investment in America’s energy infrastructure.”
Vice President Joe Biden attended the announcement of the project. Speaking at the ABB manufacturing facility in Jefferson City, Missouri, where the electrical transformers for the Lost Creek wind farm will be made, Biden said: "You have maintained jobs here because Wind Capital Group, which was ready to put on hold its projects, was able, through this Recovery Act, to get the money to make its project happen. … Because the Lost Creek project is a go, there are around 100 wind turbines supplied by GE, and transformers by ABB needed to bring that all to life. ... It matters for our future."
Added Carnahan: “The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act gave Wind Capital Group and our investors the confidence to proceed with what will be the largest wind farm in the State of Missouri, and the support of the Administration and Congress for renewable energy has set the table for new investments in wind energy projects across the country.”
Wind Capital Group is currently developing wind farm projects in sixteen states across the central U.S. and has a development pipeline of over 2,500 MW. Wind Capital Group has offices in St. Louis, Missouri, Madison, Wisconsin, and Chicago, Illinois.

It may sound like you’re creating problems yourself by wanting to solve this challenge as an alternative to looking at why their is a problem in the first place.

It is great to see we are making strives to use green technology for energy needs. There are obvious numerous additional benefits outlined in your post such as local job creation. We just now need to find a way to raise awareness about the limited global supply of fresh clean drinking water, because unlike air fresh water is not a renewable resource.
